Department established in 1964.
 

Facilities
All general Surgery, Trauma and Emergency surgery. Paediatric Surgery, Burn and Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Minimally invasive Surgical procedures are being performed.
 

Achievements & Research
Many postgraduate students have been passed from this department who have done their thesis in various topics and have presented seminars & papers on various topics in state and national conferences.

1.Paediatric & Adolescent surgical clinic started in Surgery deptt.

2.Initiation of Advanced Minimal Access Surgical (Laparoscopic & Endoscopic) procedures in the department.

3.Training of Medical officers of rural areas by departmental faculties in "Management of Genitourinary & Gastrointestinal Surgical Emergencies in Geriatric Patients".

4. Academic upgradation of faculties in the Department in the field of Breast Oncoplasty (Dr Manju Singh MCH from University of Anglia,UK), Paediatric Oncology ( Dr Shipra Sharma from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai) and Endoscopy (Dr Rajendra Ratre).
