Facilities
Teaching facility of 100 MBBS students,2 MD
students,1 DCP Candidate,Laboratory technicians.The
staff of the department also undertakes teaching of 100
BDS students & 50 BPT students.
The pathology department has various sections,fully
equipped for laboratory investigations.
Histopathology - Biopsy as well as operated
resected surgical specimens are received.Facility for
Immunohistochemistry has been started in Nov 2008.
Histopathology is also done for postmortem specimens
received.
Cytology - FNAC done for indoor as well as
outdoor patients,including USG & CT Guided FNAC.Cytospin
also available for fluid cytology.
Clinical Pathology & Haematology – Routine
Investigations of the patients including Bone marrow
Examination is being done.Cytochemical stains are done
for Leukemia typing.
Special Instruments Available Here Are –
Coagulometer for complete coagulation profile, Automated
haematology analyzer with 18 parameters,Urine
Analyser,QBC for Malaria,Electrophoresis.On an average
550 nvestigations are carried out per day.
Blood Bank –
Upgraded to State of the Art Model Blood Bank in year
2004 and completely equipped with all facilities for
issue of whole Blood , Blood components like Packed red
cells ,Platelets and FFP
- Voluntary Blood Donation camps are held from time to
time .1st Oct. is observed as national
Voluntary Blood Donation Day.14th June. is observed as World Blood donor
day.
- Seminar for Rational use of Blood are held from time
to time .
- Training is being given to Technicians and Medical
officers coming from District hospital of
the state.

2. MD Pathology – Started in the year 1969
3. Diploma in Clinical Pathology – Started in
1972 with 3 seats per year discontinued in
1994 and restarted in 2000 with 3 seats, Recognized by MCI in 2006.
At present 1 seat per
year.
4. Certificate Courses for laboratory
